Przygotowanie pojazdu do odpowiedniej pory roku, w tym do zimy jest niesamowicie istotne. Jednak oprócz spraw związanych z przygotowaniem samochodu, ważne są też te dotyczące bezpieczeństwa i komfortu podróżowania pasażerów, szczególnie tych najmłodszych.

Jak przygotować pojazd z myślą o nich? To zależy oczywiście od tego, z jak dużym dzieckiem zamierzamy się wybrać w podróż. Pierwsze skojarzenie, jakie powinno przychodzić na myśl wszystkim kierowcom, jest fotelik samochodowy. Polskie prawo drogowe przewiduje, że dziecko, które ma mniej, niż 150 cm wzrostu lub nie ukończyło 12 lat, zobowiązane jest do siedzenia w foteliku samochodowym lub specjalnej podkładce. Fotelik trzeba odpowiednio dopasować, a związane jest to głównie z wagą dziecka. Dobry fotelik powinien też posiadać certyfikaty bezpieczeństwa, co pozwoli nam też ocenić, czy pasy bezpieczeństwa je gwarantują. Jeśli już jesteśmy przy fotelikach i jesienno-zimowej aurze, to wyposażmy samochód w specjalną folię ochronną, którą montuje się na siedzeniu, za którym znajdować się będzie fotelik dziecka. Dzięki folii błoto pośniegowe nie będzie brudziło, na przykład fotelu kierowcy, a nadruki z bajkowymi postaciami na niej zajmą dziecko.

Podróżujące dziecko powinno być ubezpieczone. Z reguły standardem jest, że wykupujemy ubezpieczenie NNW, przy okazji polisy z podstawowym ubezpieczeniem pojazdu, ale dziecko warto ubezpieczyć dodatkowo. To właśnie w okresie dzieciństwa dochodzi do największej liczby mniejszej i większej liczby wypadków – dzieci są przecież takie ruchliwe!

Jeśli wybieramy się w długą podróż, powinniśmy zadbać o to, aby jakoś ją dziecku umilić. Przygotujmy kolorowe książeczki, ulubioną muzykę malucha, zabawki. Dla większych pociech wystarczyć może książka albo film na DVD. Dzięki tym „zabiegom” podróż minie zdecydowanie szybciej.

Jeśli już jesteśmy przy przygotowywaniu przestrzeni dla dziecka, zadbajmy również o to, aby w jego pobliżu nie znajdowały się żadne ostre i inne niebezpieczne przedmioty, w tym te najmniejsze, które dziecko mogłoby połknąć.

Tak przygotowani śmiało możemy ruszać w podróż. Jednak odpowiednie przygotowanie nie powinno uśpić naszej czujności. To, że mi jesteśmy ostrożni nie oznacza, że inni kierowcy też będą. Miejmy to na uwadze, kiedy będziemy wyruszać, zwłaszcza w okresie świątecznych i ferii zimowych. Jeszcze przed samym wyjechaniem z podjazdu warto sprawdzić, czy mamy wszystkie niezbędne dokumenty – ubezpieczenie OC, prawo jazdy, dowód rejestracyjny i przegląd techniczny pojazdu.
